Workshop
This 4-hour class is a perfect introduction to hot glass.
Students begin the day with the basics of shop safety and an
introduction to the tools and techniques of furnace work.
After that, students are creating beautiful and colorful
paperweights. Students can create two or three
paperweights per class. No experience is necessary and you
can repeat this class as often as you like. Includes
all tools, color and materials, cold shop demo and 2 hours
of cold working time.

1-Day Glassblowing Workshop
This workshop is perfect for
those interested in sampling hot glass and its potential without the four-week
commitment. We begin the day with an introduction to glass; review the basics of
shop safety, then start making paperweights.
Students finish the day
by making blown drinking tumblers with assistance from an instructor. The 1-day
workshop is the perfect way to experience something new and exciting and it’s a lot
of fun to take with a friend or family member. Includes all tools and materials, cold shop demo
and 2 hours of cold working time.

Glassblowing Level 1
Learn the basics in a closely supervised team environment,
then improve your new skills through
practice practice practice. Students learn how to safely and effectively gather glass from the
furnace and use basic tools to shape the piece. Glassblowing 1 emphasizes
teamwork, communication and skill building. We’ll also discuss the
basics of glass chemistry and principles of heating, cooling and gravity and
their effect on glass. By the end of the class you’ll learn all the skills for
making a drinking tumbler, the basic form of many blown vessels. Glassblowing
Level 1 includes all tool and materials, an introduction to our cold shop allowing students to
finish the bottoms of pieces and includes 2 hours of cold work.

Glassblowing Level 2
Hone your skills from level 1
while learning new shapes and color application. You’ll learn how to create more
visual interest or function with your pieces by adding handles, lip wraps, feet,
etc. Glassblowing Level 2 also teaches basic studio etiquette and operations.
After taking Level 2 and with instructor’s approval, students qualify to rent
studio time to create their own work. Glassblowing level 2 includes 3 hours of
cold working time. Includes all tools and materials.
